Devanagari keyboard

Hi

I downloaded a devanagari keyboard and I'm slowly learning to remember where the most common characters are but there are some I don't even remember seeing before.

ऴ ळ

What are these signs for?

Dhanyavaad... If it's not used in Hindi then that's the only thing that I need to know as I'm not learning any other Indian languages :)

ळ is used in marathi, not in Hindi. It is also not in standard Hindi devnagari script. 'ऴ' - I havent ever seen it, may be some similar pronunciation to ळ  or rather retroflex 'L' as we see in south indian languages.

(I suspect if it is zh of Tamil as there are 3 types of ल in Tamil. I am very sorry my guess turns out to be wrong)

ळ in English is written as L, and it is a retroflex sound. In marathi as far as I understood it sounds close to 'ड़' (NOT 'ड') with some ल.

May be some learnt person can answer this better.
