Hi everybody, is this article about the word "Like" is an american thing to say like him or like her, well I read the article but I don't understand very well, if you could explain me please?

Hi Olivier,

 

The article is in two parts. First, Chris explains the "formal"(standard) use of like, which you would learn in any English course.

 

The second part has the informal uses, eg. <em>be like</em> = <em>say</em>/<em>think</em>, or <em>like</em> as an interjection. The informal uses are typically American.
