Tagalog Grammar books/references

What are the best references that we can use to learn Tagalog grammar? Books, online websites, e-books etc. I live in the Philippines but sometimes find it very difficult to find language learning books for Tagalog! Especially grammar. Any help would be great. Maraming salamat!

For a basic overview try Tagalog Structures by Teresita Ramos.  It gives a general overview of the language.  For more details about verbs try the Tagalog Verb Series by S.Baarsch.  I started by switching between lots of different books.  Basic Tagalog for foreigners and non-tagalogs is also very good.  Seasite is also an amazing online resource http://www.seasite.niu.edu/tagalog/Tagalog_Homepage99/learning_tagalog_on_this_site.htm

I had the same problem and used lots of different books to put the grammar together.  I started out with Tagalog structures by Teresita Ramos and moved on to Tagalog Reference Grammar by schacter &  Otanes.  It's a rare book.

Tagalog Seasite is a very good reference website site for learning Tagalog.

I'm a beginner, so my focus right now is on "grammar light". I don't have a serious grammar book.

I'm learning using Elementary Tagalog: Tara, Mag-Tagalog Tayo, a 24-lesson textbook (with workbook and audio) meant to be used in college or university classes. The grammar explanations are very good - at least, I can understand them, so they must be doing something right! Ha!

I have a blog where I talk about language-learning, and I've compiled a list of Tagalog resources. There might be something there that you find useful:

I am not learning Tagalog but I've found some references on a site that provides resources for various languages. Take a look:

I believe a Tagalog learning mobile app that has audio recorded by native speakers will help you a lot. I hope this app may help you learn Tagalog : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dalubhasareviewcenter.easytagalog . This app will teach you from different ways of counting in Tagalog, telling time, travel and dining phrases to advanced Tagalog. This app consists of Tagalog words and sentence structures and offline dictionary with examples of sentences. It also has detailed explanation even on using affixes, verbs, adjectives, slang, Taglish, and idiomatic expressions and tips on how to learn a language efficiently.
Being a native Tagalog speaker, I must say that the easiest part could be nouns and adjectives. Verbs, idiomatic expressions, and active and passive voices are the most difficult. Well, it really depends on how people learn.
