Frábært!  Great selection.  I've always been a fan of tastefully-applied repetition even in English, so this part is easily one of the most poetic and effective verses.  :)

I like the final part even better than the Loddfáfnir part.

Veistu, hvé rísta skal?
Veistu, hvé ráða skal?
Veistu, hvé fáa skal?
Veistu, hvé freista skal?
Veistu, hvé biðja skal?
Veistu, hvé blóta skal?
Veistu, hvé senda skal?
Veistu, hvé sóa skal?

Has always made me think a lot about the shades of meanings of each if these verbs.

One of the more famous one regularly gives me the shivers:

Deyr fé,
deyja frændr,
deyr sjálfr et sama;
ek veit einn,
at aldri deyr:
dómr um dauðan hvern.

wikipedia translation:

Cattle die,
kinsmen die
you yourself die;
I know one thing
which never dies:
the judgment of a dead man's life.

The last line of this one is a proverb you find in Iceland to this day:

Ungr var ek forðum,
fór ek einn saman,
þá varð ek villr vega;
auðigr þóttumk,
er ek annan fann,
maðr er manns gaman.

Óðinn also says somewhere that he had a drinking problem. Don't remember exactly which stanza but it jumped out at my when reading it at school.
