There are a million movies that you can download from YouTube. Get subtitles from sites like OpenSubtitle, SubScene, or Podnapsi. Any popular movie will have subs available in many languages. Players like VLC will have a Subtitles menu that let you add the subtitle file. It usually has a .srt suffix.

This is very good advice. It is really effective and enjoyable method of learning languages.
In addition to this, after watching I try to summarize the plot of the film.
It helps to learn to express thoughts in the target language.

  Laura-Gabriela:

I thought your essay to be a terrific outline for a method.

   I really like the idea of getting a DVD for a movie musical like "My Fair Lady"

or    "Oliver!"   http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063385/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1;

   As a whole, it might seem a daunting task, but the story lines are fun and interesting.

Each song and its printed lyrics taken indifiually, make for a useful study.

  I also thought your mention of cartoons was practical. Moreover, I think that the many online videos for Nursery Rhymes and the songs intended for the instruction of children to be of help.

   I hope you will elaborate upon your ideas.
