Portuguese normally greet each other by shaking hands. There is an old custom of kissing each other on the cheek, but today only women do it, and usually even then only with friends. To be safe, just shake hands.
In my country men great each other by shaking or kissing and also women. But I prefer shaking :D
because I have stupid idea that when I great someone by kissing he will stab a knife on my neck >_<
In South America we kiss on the cheek if there is a woman involved. If there are two men then just shake hands.
handshake ,cheek kiss if u know the person (both men-women and women-women but not men-men). I live in spain and here cheek kiss is common so my handshake is considered as "cold hearted" sometimes..cant just get rid of it LOL
shake hands for formality.. just wave hands and hug for close friends.. Kiss cheeks for for classy people..
