I have never been to one and I am looking forward for my first attending to a party. But according to movies, dramas, songs and my own stay in US, seems that a party is just tantamount to one debauchery night. Is it always the case?
It depends what kind of party you're attending! If it's a university party well..yeah debauchery is to be expected but you don't have to do anything extreme or unconfortable to attend those and have fun, most of the people just dance, drink, maybe smoke. There is always a few kids who do all the crazy stuff but they wont force you to do anything you don't want to do :)
If it's another kind of party it really depends on the occasion and the people who will be there, and what kind of night people were thinking of having, all of them are not debauchery, there is everything!
High in the Rockies and Sin City, it doesn't get any more fun than this for legal adult Americans. :)
