Do you believe languages are equal in terms of expressive power?

English has become the international lingua franca, just as Spanish in some regions, but certainly every language has its flavor, its common metaphors and a specific grammar. In terms of vocabulary all modern languages are more or less equal, simply because when you don't have a word in your own language, you grab it from English or Latin, or from Latin through English, and so forth. But how do you feel about the foreign languages that you are studying? Do they allow you do express yourself clearly, or are they like forcing you to speak differently, to add nuances that were not originally there, or drop nuances that you'd like to get across?

I think languages are mostly equal, but that each has some words that are special, that articulate a thought that can't be expressed simply in another language. German has several, that I won't try to spell. Spanish and Italian do, too.  I expect with help here, you could generate a list.
