Glib, my friend (an old friend of my close friend, to be exact), a journalist, was in the eastern ukraine this summer. He works both with a Russian and an Ukrainian independent (in theory) news-sites. 'independend' means, in Russian case it is a mildly oppositional site.

Nevetherless, his account was censored in both of them, which made him totally angry.

it depend in which part of Ukraine you are
if you live in the central or western Ukraine, you will feel only economical and social inconvenials, for example:prices increase little by little rather rapidly and students must go to the universities on saturdays for to economize the heating in january
but it is not so hard as it is in the eastern Ukraine, you can see what is going on there from the youtube or TV. but be careful, donot trust everything what you see, because something may be russian propaganda of Ukrainian fascism or Banderovzi or Right Sector
