We stay at home having a dinner in family with all the members invited. Usually it is said that all the food prepared for Christmas must be done before 25th of december(like before 23:59 24th of December) or else is bad luck or something. Everybody is happy...also we usually receive Christmas presents on Christmas morning.
The country is beautifully decorated with lots of artistic figures made of colourful light bulbs. Also there are a lot of festivals organized during that period from fairs to "Ice Towns".
And the more religious persons go on Christmas Eve's night to the church.
To date out your family, friend, or lover whichever you choose, not very clearly answers for Western important holidays in Taiwan, if we don't have a Western religion for Western culture.
Being more likely, for leisure in order to warm up some people you like or care so much as a kind of entertainment.
I don't celebrate it most of the time, although it's known as a big holiday in China these days. We can see Christmas trees with lots of decorations on the streets, at the malls, in the supermarkets. Christmas songs keep ringing while doing shopping, going for a walk or even walking your dog..It's more like the Chinese new year. Sometimes it's just too much.
