How do you register a username of email when your full name have been registered?

Hello, everybody.

I want to register a username of gamil or hotmail to contact with universities. But I found that my name had been registered. I want to add a suffix "chn" which can represent my nationality. I do not know whether xxx.xxx.chn@..., xxxxxxchn@... or xxx.xxx_chn@... is better. I do know many westerners have the same names, How do you register a username of emai in this situation?

I am looking forward to your advice. Thank you.

It is possible that if you use a dot (for example), maybe someone else has already taken that username.

Your choice, really. A dot, dash or underscore is fine. Usually, we add a number after the name - no punctuation.

Also name.surname.cn@... could be an option, since .cn is the first level domain for China.

use an underscore '_' to postfix location or year of birth

@Peachey, thank you for your advice. I just want to my email name easy to link with me and not confusing. I feel that when I use it in the western society, I would better follow their habits.
