What is there to see in Fukuoka?

Hello,

 

わたしは 2月14日で ふくおかに いきます。I will be going to Fukuoka on February 14.

 

What are some sights that I should see?

What are some good restaurants in the area?

There's a lot to see in Fukuoka and in it's neighbourhood:

- Tenjin and Nakasu districts with their food stands (only at night) where you can eat the local variation of ramen (Hakata-ramen)

- Daizaifu shrine

- Nanzoin temple (takes at least half an hour to go there by train from the city center, but it's definately worth it)

- Fukuoka Tower (nice view on the city)

- mount Wakasugi / Komenoyama (even better view)

- Shikanoshima island

- Atago shrine

- Ohori park

and many, many more.

I recommend Japanese soul food "ramen" , for example "Ippudo"
