Así que me uní a Italki hace más de un año y aunque comparto mensajes de personas que sigo lo que es bueno para la práctica, siento que podría estar aprendiendo mucho más si he publicado más y creé más discusiones.
Una cosa que quiero saber es el tipo de conversaciones la gente encuentra la mejor para el aprendizaje en el intercambio de idiomas. En mis conversaciones generelamente si voy a empezar en Inglés (mi lengua materna) y luego tratar de hacer conversación básica con lo que sé, y un poco de ayuda de google translate (es este engaño?). Esto es bueno para la práctica pero algunos más comentarios sería bueno. Quiero saber de otros usuarios, lo que encuentran maneras más eficaces.
Estoy casi un poco nervioso para hacer un intercambio de idiomas en skype, pero creo que eso es sólo porque puedo ser un poco tímido cuando estoy seguro de si lo que estoy diciendo es correcto.
Es común que la gente compartir artículos o videos para ayudar con cosas gramaticales complicadas? Un ejemplo es yo tengo un amigo en España que compartió esto conmigo, que es útil para los verbos irregulares

So I signed up to Italki well over a year ago now, and although I exchange messages with those I follow which is great for practice. I feel I could be learning a lot more if I posted more, and created more discussions.
One thing I want to know is what ways people find best for learning when exchanging languages. Generally in my conversations, if I will start in English (my mother tongue), and then try make basic conversation with what I know, and a little help from google translate (is this cheating?).
This is good for practice, but some more feedback would be good, and I want to hear from other users, what ways they find most effective.
I’m almost somewhat nervous to do a language exchange on skype, but I think that is just because I can be a bit shy when I’m unsure if what I’m saying is correct.

¡Hola Matthew! No he tendio muchos intercambios de idioma así que no sé lo que son los temas mejores.
Pero tengo otro truco para ti para memorizar las conjugaciones en español.
Los verbos que terminan con -uir son irregulares en la tercera persona en el pretérito. Los verbos leer, creer, y oír son los mismos pero toman una tilde así, íste, ímos, ísteis. Creo que todos verbos de este tipo toman "y" en el gerundio también, leyendo, creyendo etc.
Hola, a veces es difícil concretar un horario para conversar por skype.Pero si lo logras,lo mejor es convenir de antemano cómo va aser el intercambio,y hablar un poco en cada idioma,para que ambos se favorezcan.
Estoy de acuerdo contigo, pero creo que la forma de sacar el mayor provecho es hablando con la gente, dos veces a la semana como mínimo dejando tu timidez aparte tomárselo en serio y fijando temas concretos para hablar: deportes, libros, vacaciones, países, idiomas etc.
Hola Matthew, te aconsejo que dejes la timidez y tengas intercambios por skype con un compañero al menos una vez a la semana. Lo importante es ir soltándo la lengua y acostumbrando el oído al idioma que quieres aprender, aunque tengas muchos errores.
al principio será complicado pero a pasos lentos irás mejorando. Eso nos pasa a todos. italki es muy útil, sácale provecho. Saludos!!
Hi! I think the better way to improve your Spanish is make mistakes in wathever subject you want, and try (if you can) don't use the google translate.
A friend with try to talk in english (I'm afraid to talk like you in Skype) always when I said something wrong try to explime and that help me a lot. You have to try with somebody you feel confident :)
