Why italian movies are perfect to learn italian language

Italian movies are really good if you're thinking to learn this language. The reason:

- italian movies are influenced by italian theatrical activity: this mean you'll find a lot of conversations, because they're focused on the characters and their feelings.

Of coure, not all of them are "slow movies". You have to choose carefully.

You're right Durian. Questa notte ho guardato "La Luna" di Bertolucci. Ho capito tutto!

Ho trovato due frasi nuove per me:

"Che faccia di stronzo" e "Una vera rottura di pale".

I agree with Agatha. Do you mind recommending some italian movies?

è meglio per imparare da guardare documentari, perché che cosa è detto è la descrizione della immagine! Capire a mezzo basta!

I agree with you, Durian. I am a huge fan of Federico Fellini (among other Italian directors), and you describe the Italian cinema to a tee when you say that it puts a great emphasis on the characters and their feelings.

Yes I agree you have to choose carefully. If you are watching for language learning purposes then movies and TV shows that have a lot of dialect will not be helpful. Having said that they can still be worth watching because they are great films.
