One thing that surprised me is how friendly Russian people are. I've met some great Russian people through this site. They are so helpful to foreigners learning their language. I admit I was nervous speaking Russian with a native person (I thought, I'm really going to sound like an idiot) But they were all so positive. It gave me such a good impression. I am looking forward to learning more about Russia and it's fascinating people.
