"이에요/예요"의 쓰임새에 관한 것인데 받침으로 끝난 말 뒤에선 "이에요", 그렇지 않으면 "예요"로 써야 합니다.

따라서 "남자에요", "여자에요"는 틀린 말이고 "남자예요", "여자예요"로 해야 맞겠습니다.
