One common thing many foreigners find in Thailand is many Thai words are spelled differently on maps and road signs, on menu, Please share if you have experienced this. Does it make it difficult for you as a Thai language learners ?

I think it is ok for English speakers but if I write the word in English letters it confuses some Thai people if they are used to seeing the other spellings.

For example I lived in Ladprao which I have seen Lat Phrao and Ladphrao on road signs / used by other people.
