It can be about culture, language, lifestyle, or anything.
Denmark:
- In Denmark we celebrate something called "j-dag" - j is for 'juleøl' which means christmas beer. Basically, you just drink this beer on the day and you can celebrate is with your friends and family.
- Denmark has been elected as the happiest country in the world before - I really dunno why, but I am guessing it's because people are just happy for their jobs etc. there is a lot of individuality and I think that's made an impact on people.
- In Denmark, most people do not cross the red light because the fine is really huge xD
- Nowadays, people drink alcohol from a really young age - like, 14 or something. I think it's really crazy but the rules for alcohol are not as strict here. You can drink strong liquor when you turn 18 and less strong when you're 16.
- In Denmark, we don't really celebrate halloween, but instead we celebrate 'fastelavn' which means carnival in English. Here you hit a barrel with a bat to make candy come out, you wear costumes and you go around singing for your grandparents and stuff and they can give you money or whatever they like xD
Canada...
1. Largest country in the world in land mass, but only 35 million in population
2. 75% of Canadians live within 175 km of the US border....meaning all that land is almost completely empty except for the natural environment
3. The first Europeans to arrive in North America were the Vikings, at a site on the northern tip of Newfoundland called L'Anse aux Meadows about 1,000 years ago. The first permanent European settlement in North America was Quebec City, founded in 1608. The first humans to arrive in North America were the aboriginal people who are thought to have travelled here by foot thousands of years ago, crossing the Bering Strait from what is now Russia to Alaska while this body of water was frozen. From there they travelled south and east, spreading across the continent and into South America.
4. Canada is bordered by three oceans (Pacific to the West, Arctic to the North and Atlantic to the East), and the United States in the south
5. We have two national official languages, English and French. However in the major cities outside Quebec (where the majority of native French-speakers live), the most common languages apart from English are Cantonese, Mandarin, Italian, Punjabi, Tagalog, Spanish, Urdu, Tamil and Portuguese.
Brazil's official language is Portuguese
We don't understand Spanish, we think we do as foreigners also think so , but once our neighbours open their mouth, we get totally lost
_____
There are big and populated cities in the central part of Brazil
_____
Not all Brazilians like soccer, samba and carnaval and we find it boring when foreigners mention these three things when they're asked about Brazil but it's okay, it's not their fault!
_____
Many Brazilians don't accept that our country is indeed violent full of crimes, they'll say it's an exaggeration and will say that in every country it's the same thing but it's not. Brazil is indeed very dangerous.
____
Luch is a very important meal in Brazil, we need to eat well (rice is a must and in most cases, beans too), so whenever you have a Brazilian friend in your country and you want to invite him or her for lunch, give them proper food, no sandwiches or snack, PROPER FOOD! :D
PS: Our rice has to be fried with tastes, flavours, seasoning and etc. Not like the Asian sticky plain wet rice.
:D
Well people's republic of china:
1,capital is beijing and there are 4 first-tire cities here like beijing shanghai shenzhen guangzhou.
2,we got largest population in the world, so far it's about 1.4 billion. so everywhere is crowded and your will never feel alone in the streets.
3,spring festival is the most improtant troditional festival in the past, cuz many chinese young think christmas day is more interesting. even though most of them don't know who is Jesus.
4,maybe you all konw chinese food is very delicious and there are so much categories of it. but for us who live in china, food security make us sick.
5.few chinese may leave you bad impression, i have to say they are special cases...
Thought I'd share more about HK than China cause they're really culturally different tbh.
Hong Kong is just so crowded. It's one of the most (third I think?) populous cities in the world. People, people everywhere.
FOOD. Food everywhere. Be it Chinese cuisine, French, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Shanghainese, name it and you'll probably find it within five blocks on the urban side of the city.
It's ranked as the most globalised city in the world repeatedly, with a reputation of being the melting pot of Chinese and Western cultures.
Malls everywhere. Many of them run til late night too, the Shopper's Paradise is what they call it. Consumerism is celebrated like a religion here.
We have two official languages, English and Chinese (Cantonese), which makes traveling convenient for foreigners. Most people are bilingual, especially the younger generations, since it's mandatory to learn both in our education system.
