戈壁:Gobi desert(Gobi is not beach,it is desert.)

野蝎：Wild scorpions

团部：regiment headquarter(the 团 here is not group, but regiment, and you'd better use headquarter but headquaeters)

So:

Nearly one hundred people met to go the Gobi desert, which was several tens of kilometers from regiment headquarter to catch wild scorpions.
