Hello, I hope I can slove your question as a native speaker and a specilist in Chinese writing.

For "to shame", there are rarely action verbs to use in Chinese. So we may say:

 1." 令 somebody 感到惭愧/羞愧“  This very formal e.g. 他的话令我感到惭愧

 2. 让 sb 感到惭愧/羞愧

 3.使 sb 感到惭愧/羞愧

notice ”羞愧“has stronger emotion than "惭愧”(in other word, more ashamed)

If you express your excitment, you may omit "感到“ e.g. 他说的话真让我惭愧!

You can say we use  caustic verbs like "令, 使,让“ to express this meaning.
