Improving Listening Skills

Hi guys,

does anyone know any tips or can recommend some good methods for training/improving listening skills? I am learning italian at the moment, and while i can read it well, i still struggle with the listening aspect. Do any of you have a similar problem with your target language?

thanks

download news in slow italian, also check meet up or whatever and find if there is an italian language group in your city, I live in phx and was suprised to find over 700 members in the group that meets weekly, only 10 to 20 people show up, but it's great practice.

Hi Soris,

if you want to talk I'm available at lunch time or in the week-end.
I think you could also watch some Italian movie with subtitles (you could find what you want by searching torrents ops I wanted to say by buying some DVDs :-) ).

You could also listen to some music and reading song's lyrics. Some of my favourite artists are:
* MEG: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe162dQH8sjSxo2-8pHknIQ (Trip hop, pop)

* Litfiba: https://www.youtube.com/user/litfibaufficiale (Rock)

* QuintoRigo: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC8LqeNXf0llJGeYxSW3OQw (Jazz / Rock)

* Paolo Conte: https://www.youtube.com/user/paoloconteofficial (songwriter, Jazz / Swing)

* Vinicio Capossela: https://www.youtube.com/user/viniciocapossela (songwriter)

There's a site called Bliu Bliu that gives you many, many simple short (and not so short) texts with audio and videos in Italian. I just finished a 30-day challenge on the site and my Italian went from almost zero to "struggling but comprehensible" doing 10-20 minutes a day. I highly recommend it.
