I didn't see anything like this observation, but It would be funny know why people from different countries laugh in a different way while they'are texting. This is a list, add if cuz I miss something:
- spanish/portuguese people = "jajaja";
- russian/polish/ukrainian/belarus/baltic people = "axaxa"
- standard laugh: west europe/usa/scandinavian countries(?) = "ahaha"
- arabic people: ?
- chinese/japanese people ?
PS: this is an useless discussion, I know. It's just to break the routine of "help with my englishhhhhh, plizzzz".

For English-speakers 'ahaha' isn't laughing. Nobody laughs like that 'in' English.
We say 'aha!' when we've found something out or suddenly understood something.
English laughing is 'Ha ha' for a big hearty laugh, and 'He he' for a little giggly laugh.

By the way, there's one more laugh we use in English, in addition 'Ha ha' for a big hearty laugh, and 'He he' for a little giggly laugh. There's also 'Ho ho ho' if you happen to be Santa Claus.
