Natural Monster ! Three hurricanes / typhoons show up in NWP

Above is the satellite image of what happened in the NWP (North-Western Pacific).

I think everyone lives in countries next to Pacific or Atlantic may hear about hurricanes / typhoons frequently, especilly in the scorching hot summer. NWP is the most suitable area for their development due to the warm surface ocean that can supply enough energy to "spin up".

It seems to be terrible in couples of day : (

ps. Any question about atmospheric science is welcome !

OH! It is ranked by intensity. Sorry, I forgot to add this.
Your decision was right. When encountering this situation, nobody wants to bear the risk of homelessness. Thanks for your comment again : )

What does...

3rd landfalling hurricane in U.S.

mean?

Many hurricanes have hit land in the U.S.

Katrina did not totally destroy several states. That's simply inaccurate. It did a lot of damage near the shore of the gulf... especially in New Orleans, but that was mostly because New Orleans was destined to be under water. I watched a whole documentary on how one slight hurricane could easily destroy that city years before Katrina hit.

The only thing really important about a hurricane or the season when you live in a place that gets hurricanes is whether that hurricane is heading towards YOUR house. In 2004 four hurricanes came right at us (none of them being Katrina)... that's why we moved. Feeling like a bowling pin year after year watching those big storms on the television and praying they don't keep on heading towards you is no way to live.

2004 is recognized as the Atlantic hurricane season. However, the "number" of hurricanes is not the only things we care about. The "strength" and "path" play more important roles in this issue. I think people know more about Katrina not only because it totally destroyed several states near the gulf of Maxico but it's the 3rd landfalling hurricane in U.S. I heard terrible news about Katrina striking New Orleans everyday when it occured.

Willy, the weird thing was that in 2004 FOUR HURRICANES hit us and nobody seemed to care and then Katrina hit another state entirely that had absolutely no effect on Florida and everyone was asking me if I was OK. The only hurricane people seem to know about is Katrina for some reason.

Hi, Dorothy : )   Nice description and thanks !

Maybe what you mentioned is hurricane Katrina in 2005. It's really a terrifying feeling beyond my imagination.
