Is there anyone who has learned english for a long time and than start to learn french??(or a native english speaker)

in some way, the two languages are similar， especially the spelling of words.It's true that the pronunciation's rules of french is easier than english， but it's also the biggest problem...

no problem for the english reading, what is the method for distinguishing their pronunciation?? Because i have forgot too many english pronunciation and its grammary after having learned french for more than 3 years  :(
