spanish greeting phrases

Which spanish greeting phrases do you use?

I already know "Hola, cómo estás?" and "Hola, qué tal?". Are there other greeting phrases?

You are right Dorothy, in Spain is very common to say just "buenas".

When asking for colloquial expresions, i find important to clarify if you are refering to an specific spanish speaking country or to all of them, because as you can imagine, the differences can be quite important.

Mi wife, for example, is from Colombia, and she would say "qué pasó" or "qué más". In Spain we use: "buenas", "qué tal", "qué pasa"

I think it depends on what Spanish speaking country you are in.

My friends from Spain sometimes just say, "buenas".

Please correct me Spaniards if I'm wrong about that. I always feel kind of insecure and shy saying what something should be in Spanish... especially colloquial Spanish.

No te puede faltar el "Qué onda!?"

Y si vienes a México puedes usar esta, aunque es muy informal: "Qué pedo!"
