Maybe you've tried this already, but an idea is to record yourself talking about some random topic, then playing it back so you can hear yourself. You can also use text-to-speech links, which many sites have (dictionary.com, translate.google.com) to hear the proper pronunciation (those sites are good for English, if not other languages).

One last note though: English isn't a language where pronunciation follows spelling, so unfortunately unless you live in an English speaking country, you'll always have an accent. But that's not a bad thing! I think you have the right idea of wanting to improve your accent for intelligibility.
