Happiness....so difficult to answer.....because so many things come to my mind when I think about it.. .. I often ask myself what is happiness for me.....having strong health, being successful, having a good job, trully friends, have your own family, travelling.....what is the most important of all these things....and I confuse to answer definitely or choose only the one answer....because each of this component is a piece of happiness......

For me happiness is freedom. IT means living my life as I wish without restrictions. Now I am retired so I can travel as much as I like with my husband (so I am not alone) and I know that I can do whatever I like at any time. Being free brings me happiness. Of course this is only part of it. Because being with my family, seeing my sons happy in what they do in life also brings me happiness. But the main thing is freedom.

Spangola I think happiness are those little moments ...smile , helping others , to have good health and freedom ... as said ruthi , is very important the freedom , because so many times we are who we want to be :) 

To me, the foundation of happiness is having knowledge of self. Knowing who you really are, what you stand for, and having the courage to actually be that person; self-censorhip is a smothering vice. I think Shakespeare was right when he said: <em>"A coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant taste of death but once."</em>
