Do you have confidence in you when you teach your language partners?
You teach with confidence when you know the ingredients and components of effective instruction- speak actively (be expressive and enthusiastic), teach actively (engage students, let your teaching be about their learning), and care actively (be concerned about your language partners their learning).You teach with confidence when you are prepared .You start feeling confident, start believing that you have reasons to be. Before you decide that couldn’t possibly work, give it a try.
Because language partnership is two-way, both sides need to be prepared, and to share the same enthusiasm and goals. Perhaps this is one reason why some online language relationships fail.
I don't think [speaking from my experience] that both partners have to be at the same level of competence in the languages they are learning, but they do need to share the same level of commitment.
