I'm a student in China, who tries his best to learn English. However, when having a rest, I love to read poems written in Ancient Chinese. It is a little bit complicated even for modern Chinese people, but it really brings me a sense of beauty. Now I'm going to share one piece of these works, which is recorded in a famous album called Shijing.

嘒彼小星，三五在东。肃肃宵征，夙夜在公。寔命不同。
嘒彼小星，维参与昴。肃肃宵征，抱衾与裯。寔命不犹。

In morden Chinese, it should be like:

小小星星闪微光，三三五五在东方。急急匆匆赶夜路，早早晚晚为公忙。命运不同徒悲伤。

小小星星闪微光，参星昴星挂天上。急急冲冲赶夜路，抱着棉被和床帐。人家命运比我强！

This poem tells the story of a man who worked for the government. He was forced to work until midnight, travelling under the tiny light of stars.

I think the beauty of this poem not only comes from its matching structure, but also comes from its description of the environment, as well as the patterns of language it used. As a matter of fact, Shijing is famous for its simplicity and quaintness.
