I was not really sure how to call them in English... so I searched on the internet. These are Japanese iteration marks. Used to represent repetition of the previous character in writting.

We call them "踊り字" or "繰り返し記号" and I think "/\" is called "くの字点" in Japanese.
There are almost obsolete in modern Japanese, though.

However, "々"(ノマ点) is commonly used today.

"々" is used in kanji.
For example,
人々=ひとびと=people
山々=やまやま=mountains
時々=ときどき=sometimes
少々=しょうしょう=a little

I guess you've seen "々" when you read Japanese writtings.:)

Hi there! I don't think it's a typo, aira.
It looks like a ditto mark in Japanese to me and "スタスタ歩く" means "walk briskly".
I hope this helps you.:)

Maybe an へ? “...he departed towards 'suta'”.

I'm not really sure.

Interesting reading for a beginner. (´◉◉`;)

I see, so it's a similiar mark like  "々".
If this mark "々", I often see it. Haha

I've searched on the internet with くの字点 as the keyword and I find a lot of article about it.
Thank you again :)
