Learning more about Deutsch

Hello everyone,
Lately I have decided to take a break from my Japanese studies to focus on my Spanish and add another romance language to my list.
-I am super excited about learning languages and would like to learn about a new culture. I have decided to choose German as my next language learning project since my cousin speaks it (as his second language) and I have heard good things about the country.

However i don't want to start a new language without some background. So I would like to ask all the German learners:
-Why are you learning German? Any deep reasons that go beyond the general cultural appreciation or loving the sound of the language?
-Have you managed to meet people using German and how was that experience?
-What is the most fullfilling part of learning German?
-What parts of the German culture do you like? What parts do you not like?
-If you had the choice, would you chose to learn German again if you weren't already studying it?

I am very curious to hear the answers and hope you all can help me learn more about this new language.
Thanks again!

Whoops, sorry I forgot German isn't a romance language. It is Germanic. Please ignore that part.
