In the British Isles there are 7 recognised native languages:

English (spoken to some degree more or less everywhere)

Irish (a Celtic language, first official language of the Republic of Ireland, recognised minority language in Northern Ireland)

Welsh (a Celtic language spoken in Wales)

Scottish Gaelic (a Celtic language spoken in parts of the Highlands and islands of Scotland)

Manx (a Celtic language revived and spoken on the Isle of Man)

Scots (spoken in much of Scotland and, as Ulster Scots, in parts of Northern Ireland; a recognised minority language in Northern Ireland; closely related to English, there is much debate as to whether it is a language or a dialect)

Cornish (a Celtic language formerly spoken in Cornwall, became extinct but has been revived and is now a recognised minority language in UK)

As well as these there are people who speak numerous other languages from around the world.
