what's the diffirence between bill and invoice?

In my opinion, bill and invoice are commercial documents that show us how much money we have to pay when we buy something.
But the diffirence is:
BILL: if seller gives us a bill it means we have to pay money immediately
INVOICE: if seller gives us an invoice means we're going to pay money before the date that written on the invoice.
What is your opinion?
Thank you

There is no prescribed difference in payment conditions whether a request for payment is called a bill or an invoice. In many cases, the words are used interchangably, however, invoice tends to be used for commercial transactions with corporations, and bill tends to be used in a more generally way and for retail transactions. Having said that, retail transactions also may be invoiced. A resident may receive a bill for gas and electricity usage that is due in 30 days, just as a corporation may receive an invoice that is due in 30 days for services performed. However, if you have lunch at a restaurant, you will receive a bill, and it must be paid immediately, and it is never called an invoice. Also, some invoices specifiy payment terms as "due and payable."
