May tanong ako :)

Magandang umaga po sa lahat :) May tanong ako.. How would I say.. " I spent the night looking at pictures" or something similiar to convey that thought.. Maraming salamat!

May sagot ako:

Magdamag akong tumingin ng mga litrato. (All night, I looked at pictures.)

Tumingin ako ng mga litrato magdamag. (I looked at pictures all night)

Ako ay tumingin ng mga litrato magdamag. (I looked at pictures all night)

magdamag - adv. all night; overnight; during the night

tumingin - v. looked

litrato - n. photograph; picture

The word for spent is ginugol.

This form is valid, but may be too formal:

Ginugol ko ang gabi sa pagtingin ng mga litrato. (I spent the night [on/by] looking at pictures.)

It's more native-sounding to just use magdamag to express the idea of "spending the night."

Sana nasagot ko ang tanong mo. :)

"I spent the night looking at pictures." could be translated to "Pinalipas/Ginugol ko ang gabi sa pagtingin sa mga litrato."

Here's another version:

Pinalipas ko ang gabi sa pagtingin ng litrato.

It highlights the action of "spending" the night. It's the more natural-sounding counterpart of ginugol and may be used in informal speak.

Tumingin ako sa mga retrato buong gabi.

Tumingin ako sa mga retrato halos buong gabi.
