Great Japanese teacher. Understands the perspective of a Japanese learner, and give more relevant advice than a native wouldn't be able to give. Marco knows many Japanese learners as well as their unique journies they have taken, and is able to give second-hand advice to a wide range of learners. For my particular lessons, I wanted to drive my own learnings, and decided to go with infrequent check-ins to do reviews, in-depth explanations, as well as advice on possible things to work accompanied by resources and methods to do (practice listening, using these sites and plugins, vary usage of subtitles and amount of replays). One final thing I would like to touch on, for any english-speakers who are afraid of difficulty communicating, that is not an issue. For the longest time, I believed Marco was a native English speaker, and I still doubt his claims that he isn't one.

I went to Marco for help with becoming fluent in Japanese. Marco is kind, patient, respectful, and professional — very flexible and adaptable to my learning needs, and tailors the lessons based on my language level, gives excellent suggestions on how I can teach myself in my own time, while making the lessons enjoyable with just the right amount of challenge. After six months of weekly lessons, I went from complete beginner to now being able to read simple news articles. The dopamine hit from accomplishing this makes me want to continue lessons with Marco and improve my Japanese. Marco is a great resource if you are learning any language that he teaches. I highly recommend Marco!
