I'm a language lover, was born in Japan, and live in Saigon, Vietnam for more than 20 years, mainly speak Japanese with my family and Vietnamese in business hours. My name is Hagi. I like to hear from other people about their story, especially from those who have different cultural background. I love leather craft to have my original bags, wallet, pass cases, watch band etc... for my own, and also like to sing a J-pop through Youtube.
Me as a Teacher
I was raised and educated in Japan but now live in Vietnam. I regularly use Vietnamese with my colleague, subordinates and counterparts and sometimes communicate with customers around the world in English.
Each language is unique in its own way, but don't think too hard about it, just start a conversation by using the words you know and saying them out loud.
My lessons & teaching style
My lesson style is conversation lessons, but I use simultaneous typing to convert all the conversation content into text so that students can check and review the conversation content later. If you don't need this texting and just want to have a natural conversation, please let me know in advance.
I do not teach Japanese and Vietnamese grammar structures in a school-like manner that follows a textbook.

Super fun and casual. As an older language learner(52), it's hard to commit to a strict study plan. I was very lucky to have Hagi Sensei willing to engage in casual conversation about anything. As we talk, he is simultaneously transcribing our conversation for me to review later. Whenever I say something wrong, or when I am at a lost for word, he would provide hints and input, be it in typed form or verbal form, It's very fulfilling to engage in.

I always felt satisfied when I finished the lesson with Hagi Sensei because I always feel comfortable and pleased after the lesson. It's because I know that I will learn a lot from Hagi Sensei every time. It's always productive having lesson with Hagi Sensei. I will read again and again the notes that Hagi Sensei diligently recorded and corrected for me. It's really helpful to know what have I said in the lesson and how to properly express them. I will try to simulate again the whole conversation again and try to find out the best expression. Through this proccess, I will find another learning direction. It's why I like to have lessons with Hagi Sensei, you don't only passively learned words from Hagi Sensei, but you know which part you should improve more, and you will be happy to find out your weakness when you speaking and learning Japnese. Thank you Hagi Sensei.

I really enjoyed today's session with Hagi Sensei. We talked about a plane crash and the car industry. It was mostly free talk, which is fine, but what really sets Hagi Sensei apart from other teachers is the fact that he writes down everything we talk about. After the lesson, I can go back and study the sentences and words I didn't fully understand. This is tremendously useful. In addition, Hagi Sensei is extremely patient and doesn't seem to mind when I say (over and over again) "can you please say that again?".

Hagi San was very fun to talk to because he speaks 3 languages: Japanese, Vietnamese, and English. I highly recommend his classes, especially for those who love learning multiple languages for fun.
