Me as a Teacher
I speak English, Dutch, and a little bit of Mandarin Chinese. I can also read in French (but do not speak it yet) and this year, I started learning Japanese. I also teach private English courses to my Indonesian friends. I really enjoy language learning and I’d love to help you all learn my native language, Bahasa Indonesia.
Regarding the method, I am a fan of comprehensible input and conversation methods, so I will help you learn Bahasa Indonesia through stories, articles, daily conversation, plus, a healthy portion of Indonesian grammar. And of course, we will learn Indonesian culture, foods, nature, and anything about Indonesia along the way!
Let's learn Bahasa :)
My lessons & teaching style
Indonesian stories, articles, daily conversation, idioms & slang, and Indonesian grammar.
Teaching style: story-based learning, direct conversation, and feedback. I enjoy a no-pressure teaching environment so let's have fun while learning!

Fadri is a very patient teacher. We learnt some vocabulary and some grammar. One of the topics was, for example, the use of entah/ entahlah (meaning "who knows" or "either... or...")
we made some examples:
aku ga yakin sama apa yang dia bilang, entah benar atau nggak.
I'm not sure about what he said, either it's right or wrong.
entah apa yang dia pikir, sehingga dia ngelakuin itu.
who knows what he was thinking, until he did that.
aku nngak tahu, entah masih ada orang yang tinggal di sana atau nggak.
I don't know, either there are still people living there or not.

Great first lesson with Fadri! As a polygot, he provided me with tips and tricks for picking up a language easier, something rare to find with other instructions. His lesson structure is clear and he uses slides to orientate the class!

I had my first lesson ever on italki with Fadri, and it was a great first experience. He was able to identify my Bahasa Indonesian level very accurately and adjust the lesson accordingly e.g. in terms of topics & vocabulary.
Topic-wise, he was able to introduce new topics in a conversational-style way while providing clarifications along the way fo words I didn't know. His Bahasa Indonesian was precise, and I would recommend him to anyone from all levels looking to improve their Bahasa!
