1.  This is a medical/biological term.  It is not in most dictionaries yet.  Therefore you need to include a definition of what it is in the form of a footnote like this or somehow explain it in your essay as well.  Writing technical stuff won't get you much correction.  I myself will skip over it if you have not asked for help directly.
