First of all, thank you for learning our language. I hope you will find my corrections and suggestions helpful. Happy learning!
"First notebook entry: Introducing myself" => Unang tala sa aklat-talaan: Pagpapakilala sa aking sarili
first: una (adding "ng" will make it function more like an adverb)
myself: aking sarili
CORRECTION VERSION 2:
"Ang pangalan ko'y Christoph at ako'y dalawampu't pitong taong gulang na. Nakatira ako sa Hamburg. Hindi ako marunong magsalita ng Tagalog pero sinusubukan kong matuto ng Tagalog."
*You can contract words by removing "a" and adding ' between words like ako, ko, kayo, nyo, tayo, etc.
*Actually, you don't have to put "na" after stating your age. But, in some instances, you may add it.
It all depends on the message that you want to convey. For instance, if you are proud of your age, you DON'T have to add "na" but if you are somehow disappointed with your own age or somehow wish that you were younger, you CAN add "na".
*Hindi ako marunong magsalita ng Tagalog => I don't know how to speak Tagalog
*Hindi ako nagsasalita ng Tagalog => I'm not speaking Tagalog.
marunong: comes from the root word "runong" meaning "ability"
nagsasalita: is the present progressive form of the verb "salita"
First notebook entry: Introducing myself
Ang pangalan ko ay Christoph at ako ay dalawampu't pitong taong gulang na. Nakatira ako sa Hamburg. Hindi ako nagsasalita ng Tagalog pero sinusubukan kong matuto ng Tagalog!
Wow! You write excellent Tagalog. I just added linkers in your entry to make it more native like. Way to go! :)
