My Two Cents Worth II

That was why Christianity was eventually accepted by the people. Imagine if Christian (I say IF) resorted to violence to defend themselves, what would happen? Already the people had so many prejudice against Christianity, if they really resorted to violence at the time, they would very probably be viewed as "terrorists" and no one would believe what they preached. If Christians, at the time, really resorted to violence, then what would be the difference between Christianity and other religions that already long existed in the region, in the eyes of the people, whom they had been preaching? And would the people believe in the love of God and Jesus?
I myself am not a Christian. However, I have always been admiring Jesus, for the love he gave us.
How about the retribution? That would be endless. It is impossible to eradicate everyone opposing you once and for all. Does that mean the violence should also be continuing indefinitely?
As for the examples you cited, yes, God did destroy the people, who were evil. However, he is God, who has the wisdom to make such a decision. Is we ordinary people's wisdom comparable to that of God? Is an ant's wisdom comparable to that of a human being?
Please feel free to correct my English. :)

How about the retribution? That would be endless. It is impossible to eradicate everyone opposing you once and for all. Does that mean the violence should also be continuing indefinitely? Killing all those opposing your views will not be possible. It just means that violence will never end. [Not unless, total annilhilation and re-educating the children!]
As for the examples you cited, yes, God did destroyed the people, who were evil. [No proof, just some words from old books.] However, he is God, who has the wisdom to make such a decision. Is we ordinary people's wisdom comparable to that of God How can we mere mortals understand the mysterious ways of God? It is sacrilegious if we do! Is an ant's wisdom comparable to that of a human being? [I know what you mean but this is Chinese logic and can be viewed as being sacrilegious in English because you elevated yourself to the position of man to God indirectly. For example in the old days, by comparing yourself to the emperor, you are accused of being traitorous! 不能說, "如果我是皇帝我就..." 這是大大不敬, 会引起滅門之罪! 你可以說, "我不是皇帝, 我不能...", 最好不用皇帝两字 ]
What is that Chinese phrase about something like, 書生與兵說理, 說不通?
