Hi my friend there isn't an special diffrence betweetn these two both  of them have the same meaning but 

 پلوuses in speaking more than  برنج

Hi young men this is agood question we should use rice or برنج before cook,but we should use پلو after cook.

But this between somtimes people use togethr.
