First notebook entry: Introducing myself

I am learning Somali, because I work at a social service agency that provides programming to East Africans, primarily Somalis. I hope through learning Somali I will be able to better connect and serve my clients.
My native language is English, and I grew up in the United States.
I enjoy volunteering, baking, camping, and meditating.
