I was wondering if I wrote it right.

わたしたち は ともだち です。 
-------------------------------------- or 
わたしたち は 友達 です。

ともだち＝友達 (Both are exactly the same. But I suggest you use Kanji better.)

&

ありがとう。 
あなた は とても やさしい です。

To use 「が」and「は」properly is really difficult. 
Usualy you can use 「は」as "be".

ぼく　は　男性　です。

わたし　は　20才　です。

あなた　は　きれい　です。  

I'm still learning on building sentences and I'm currently remembering 1st level Kanji at this moment.

> わたしたち が ともだち です。 

Normally, Japanese say "watashitachi ha tomodachi desu".

(わたし(私)たち　は(not が)　ともだち(友達)です。)

> あなた が とても やさしい です。

This is also the same.

"Anata ha totemo yasashii desu.".

(あなた　は(not が)　とても やさしい(優しい)です。)

わたしたち は 友達 です。
