First notebook entry: Introducing myself
እኔ አማርኛ መማር እፈልጋለሁ። እንግሊዝኛ አውቃለሁ። ከአመሪካ መጣሁ።
Hello mendywhitman. I have understood what you are trying to say. This means you are on the right track to learning Amharic. The words are spelled right, but I’m just going to fine tune them even more to be exactly as the Amharic pronunciation. Here goes:
Iné ifeligalehu memar amaregna ingleezegna aukalehu keamerica negn
Second I’m going to reorganize the words to create a grammatically correct full sentence.
Iné amaregna memar ifeligalehu inam (and) keamerica yemetahu (I came) sihon (being) ingleezegna aukalehu
When we translate this sentence into English:
I want to learn Amharic and while I came from America I know English.
Hello,
You have all the vocab right but you misplaced some words. I have a different way of spelling some of the words. I hope it's not to confusing.
