Just a short note to advise you about smoking in public in Spain. I know that Britain is almost a non-smoking contry, but in Spain things are alike.
From early 2010, the people mustn´t smoke in nowhere public place, because the Spanish Health Minister drafted a law to allowed it.
Before,there was some permissiveness toward Spanish somkers, but step by step the smokers have become a kind of socially marginalized.
In fact, in Spain, the smokers can smoke onlyat the entrance of public place, open spaces away from hospitals and schools, etc. And if they want to smoke in a private place (like house...) they should ask permission before light up.
