Dr. N has recently finished a pilot study of the economic burden of schizophrenia in B... This is an innovative and very important field of investigation because there has been no research assessing the economic burden of psychiatric disorders in our country. The results of this pilot study demonstrated the importance of investment in psychosocial intervention and rehabilitation in our country, because most of the indirect costs of schizophrenia are related to disability. As we have seen, Dr. N is credited for important professional accomplishments. A list of Dr. N's publications is attached.
Plans for, and likelihood of, future significant contributions
Dr. N will continue her work in psychosocialogy, and to organize long-term interventions, such as multi-family psychoeducational intervention, and cognitive-behavioral therapy with schizophrenic patients. She also plans to assess this intervention in prospective controlled research. Dr. N also takes part in the investigation of schizophrenia pharmacogenetics. Hopefully, these activities will make a significant contribution to psychiatry.
