There is not a shadow of a doubt that there are various ways to increase the level of health and fitness in people.
Firstly, exercise is an effective way to 'get in shape'; there is ample evidence that exercise can not only strengthen the immune system, but can also enhance the ability of the cardiovascular system. (Oooh nice use of "not only but also" my 'young Skywalker' hehehe [that's a quote from the film, "Star Wars"])
Secondly, people should control how many (how much food) calories they intake daily, because calorie intake plays a pivotal role in increasing people's weight.
Finally, people should not only avoid being inactive, but should also change their work habits, so they can have a balance between their 'leisure time' and working lives. (I don't like, "sporty lives" it's too informal).
For instance, going for a walk during a lunch break can help employees to 'burn off' some of those stores of fat; a study has shown that taking 30 minute walks over the lunchtime period, three times a week can improve the fitness and well-being of employees who have sedentary jobs.
(I need to do some exercise though, all I do is sit in front of this PC, make videos, make my site, help people in italki and look on Facebook, whilst eating :)........)
