Grammatically your sentence is correct.  I feel that it is somewhat vague in what it is telling the reader.  Does a person need english to travel around the world?  Certainly to do so a person would require money and a means of transport.

Consider:  I'm learning english so that when I travel around the world I will be able to communicate with a greater number of people.  {This sentence shows the connection between the learning of english and the world travel.}
