italki challenge completed!

So I've just finished my 10th session, thus completing the italki challenge!

Due to time constraints, it wasn't until last week that I was able to book my first sessions, so the last couple week and a bit have been quite intense. Despite that, I feel my speaking abilities in Japanese have improved slightly and perhaps a minuscule improvement in my Mandarin as well (although this is the more difficult of the 2 languages for me, so I accept progress will be slower).

I'm glad I took up the challenge because now I'm feeling a lot more motivated to ramp up my language studies. Also, it was a great way to meet other tutors in the languages I'm studying. Fortunately all the tutors I've met with so far have been great and will definitely be taking sessions with all of them in future.

So where to from here? Well, I've decided that I will bump up my sessions to a minimum of 2 per language per week, if I have time for more, then I'll certainly add more.

I currently have 5 - 6 tutors per language. So what I'm going to do is cycle through all tutors, the idea being that I can then discuss same topics and reinforce grammar and material with with each tutor during a cycle, perhaps gradually adding new material, then repeat with the cycle of tutors with completely new topics, material, grammar, etc. No idea how this will work in practice, but will give it a shot nonetheless.

Big thanks to italki for initiating the challenge. It's been the kick up the backside that I needed!
