Which teaching style is better for foreign students?

Which teaching style is better for foreign students?

Recently I got a part-time job to teaching four Brazilians.These four students' levels of Chinese are totally different. One is just beginning to study Chinese and one is almost sounds prounaciating like a native Chinese speaker.

My teacher in university told us there are two styles of teaching.
You should encourage your students to talk instead of correcting modifying them immediately when they make are making mistakes.The other says saying is that you should correct modify them as soon as possible.

I don't know which teaching style is better and can anybody give me some advices?

My IELTS exam is settled in for the 23th of Feb and I want to use more structures while writing but obviously I failed ....It's too hard ....

Personally I prefer that the teacher tell me my mistakes after I have finished speaking. I would suggest you note down on a piece of paper any mistakes you hear. :)
